Tying Tomatoes

Despite the very very hot weather, our tomatoes are still going strong. Some more than 6 feet high now! It's important to tie your tomatoes up off the ground, otherwise they will rot. We put 6 foot wooden stakes in the ground first next to each new tomato plant. Then, as the plants grow we tie them loosely with jute twine. Another important thing to remember when growing tomatoes is in every 'fork'  that grows to pull out any new branches that shoot up in the middle of that fork. This will ensure strong healthy tomatoes that crop well!

How do you tie up your tomatoes?
